1. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) - Tim Burton's animated film is one of the best Halloween movies of all time. It is so great, with an interesting plot, incredible soundtrack, and awesome animation. I love this movie soooo much. I just got the soundtrack on vinyl and have been playing it nonstop.
2. Halloweentown (1998) - This movie reminds me so much of childhood and it actually is pretty good, even 2o years later. The special effects are hilariously bad but Debbie Reynolds is enough to make this movie perfect!
3. Scream (1996) - This is not a Halloween movie, but it is my favorite horror movie, so it has to make the list! I should really write a full review of this one but to keep it brief, imagine the best cast, best storyline, and most twists, but then make it funny, too. That's this movie. I love it so much. So so so much.
4. Treehouse of Horror (1990ish-2020) - The Simpsons is a staple in my house, and I have always loved the Treehouse of Horror episodes that come out each Halloween. Highly recommend bingeing them--there are almost 30, each with multiple segments telling different short stories!
5. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) - Again, not a Halloween movie, but this is the most Halloween-y of the HP movies and also my favorite. Strong October vibes in this one.
6. All the Disney and Nickelodeon Halloween episodes - There are too many to count, but I remember being terrified by so many Suite Life, Wizards of Waverly Place, and iCarly Halloween episodes. Truly terrifying for a child but I would love to go back and watch them again!
7. E.T. - I love this movie, especially the Halloween scene! Everything about it is awesome. Highly recommend. A lot of movies aren't Halloween movies but have Halloween scenes... for example, Mean Girls.
Honorable Mentions: Hocus Pocus, Ghostbusters, Sleepy Hollow, The Sixth Sense, Twitches :) Have fun watching!!
