I have been so unbelievably busy that I haven't even been watching anything to review... but I did watch Rob Reiner's 1984 rockumentary This Is Spinal Tap! I really enjoyed this movie, especially the performances of Michael McKean, Harry Shearer, and Christopher Guest. I loved Christopher Guest from The Princess Bride so I liked seeing him play this very different role. Rob Reiner really is a genius and I hope to one day be like him. His comedy is great and his directing style is so light and entertaining. I finished the film and immediately began wondering what type of mockumentary I could make, because the style was so enjoyable. Also, it seemed like they were all just genuinely having fun, singing these outrageous songs and mostly improvising their dialogue. I can't imagine being on set with this cast and this material, it must have been impossible to film scenes without laughing. I really enjoyed this movie overall and would recommend!
